My Favorite Video Games

From the time I was about 5 years old, I remember playing video games, sometimes with my brothers and often times by myself. It was an amazing escape into a personal challenge with a known mission. But there was a long period where I did not make time to play games and preferred being outside playing sports instead. It was not until a few years ago when video games had become wonderfully more realistic and having you (Orlando), a son to share them with did it really rekindle my interest in the imagination enhancing powers of well designed video games.

The incredible stories behind my favorites shown below inspired me to invest in them! I can’t wait to be able to play them with you again someday as a team, discuss their stories, and not only pass on the lessons they bring, but even the rare founder’s level NFT’s daddy got for you in the early days before a few of these actually launched for the public to play =)

As you know, this game was released in early 2022 and was highly anticipated because of it’s next level graphic realness for Play Station 5. I will always remember setting this game up for you in advance on the console and then watching you open it from the suitcase I had brought that was filled with clothes to hide it. When you realized what it was underneath, you were so surprised! Well, I know that you have been enjoying many hours playing with your character in this fantasy and now know far more about it than I do, I’m writing a blog post about the story line and the valuable lesson this game teaches about the quest for truth and exploring unchartered territories. When I’m finished writing, you’ll find the button below active and can read more about why I love this game for you! In the meantime, here is a cool video review I liked.

When I discovered 9 Lives Arena while it in early alpha development within the Enjin blockchain ecosystem I was thrilled! What a cool game concept and a first of it’s kind to integrate true ownership of in game items using NFT technology. Customizing and building out the Samourai characters (both red and black), hatching Oogy eggs, gathering raw materials and collecting rune tokens on the beaches of Atlantis and fishing regularly to keep Oogy energized was such a fun set of activities knowing we were building something in the metaverse together Orlando!

Watching you practice battle other customized warriors and learn how to use spells, roll away and hide in the shadows from your opponent and then spring up to surprise attack them and win created some memorable and fun times working together as a team. I loved those times so much.

Below is the link to an essay about what I believe the life lessons 9 Lives Arena teaches players, and the real value that digital scarcity can create. We shall battle again my boy… until then, I’ll keep gathering our resources and preparing for the public launch. This one may become available on PS5 even… let’s be patient. Here’s an update on the latest post from the developer for a competition running to win $50,000 in NFT prizes!

My absolute favorite RPG so far was also a prelaunch beta version when I disovered it for us! So much has been added to explore in the updated worlds since we played it together. Our founder’s stone is safe and secure and I’ll keep collecting valuables for us and going on missions to find the rarest of treasures. My goal is to eventually stream the game play for everyone to watch, and team up together as we once did to conquer levels and build our collection of Enjin backed NFT relics.

As with the other games, I believe the virtual search for treasure is brought to life within this game and teaches us to be patient, brave, clever and relentless in our quest to accomplish strategic missions. Below is another Dose of Dad essay on the topic. The link will be active once I’m finished! I love you my boy. The search for hidden treasures in life is ongoing.
